What is image resizing?
Resizing means changing the dimensions (width and height) of an image. Unlike cropping, resizing keeps all the image content, just changing its size.
How to resize an image step by step
- Go to the resize image tool
- Select or drag your image
- Enter the desired new width or height in pixels
- Leave one field empty to automatically maintain the aspect ratio
- Click Resize
- Download the resized image
Resize for social media
| Platform | Type | Ideal dimensions |
|---|---|---|
| Square post | 1080 ร 1080 px | |
| Stories | 1080 ร 1920 px | |
| Post | 1200 ร 630 px | |
| YouTube | Thumbnail | 1280 ร 720 px |
Can I enlarge an image without losing quality?
Enlarging an image (upscaling) always results in some quality loss, as the computer needs to create pixels that didn't exist. Degradation is minimal for small increases (up to 120% of original size), but becomes noticeable for larger increases.
